Booz Allen Hamilton

Booz Allen Hamilton (BAH) understands the strategic importance of creating and retaining an in-house pipeline of talent. BAH and IDSS have joined forces to educate the next generation of leaders in statistics and data science.

With courses designed by IDSS faculty members, BAH employees can select courses to develop their skills in the following areas:

  • Probability: The Science of Uncertainty and Data
  • Data Analysis in Social Science: Assessing your Knowledge
  • Fundamentals of Statistics
  • Machine Learning with Python: from Linear Models to Deep Learning

Each BAH group of learners also receives the support of a dedicated Teaching Assistant (TA) for the duration of the class. TAs spend 20 hours per week creating supplemental materials and working individually with learners to ensure success in the course.

BAH employees that complete all four courses listed above are eligible to take a Capstone Exam in Statistics and Data Science. Upon successful completion, employees will receive a MicroMasters credential in Statistics and Data Science from IDSS and MITx.

In addition to educating its current workforce, BAH joins IDSS conferences to recruit and meet students and researchers. In spring 2020, BAH attended the Women in Data Science Cambridge event to connect with a large cohort of female scientists and engineers from MIT, Harvard, and other local universities.
