Victor Chernozhukov named Institute of Mathematical Statistics Fellow
Victor Chernozhukov, a professor of Economics and core faculty member of both IDSS and the Statistics & Data Science Center, has been named Fellow of the Institute of Mathematical Statistics (IMS). Chernozhukov received the award for path-breaking contributions to high-dimensional inference.
Each Fellow nominee is assessed by a committee of their peers for the award. In 2019, 25 of 58 nominations were selected for the Fellowship.
Created in 1935, the Institute of Mathematical Statistics is a member organization which fosters the development and dissemination of the theory and applications of statistics and probability. The IMS has 3,500 active members throughout the world; approximately 12% of the current IMS membership has earned the status of fellowship.
