Professional & Online Education

Uncover data’s true value.

Rigorous data analysis can lead to insights that drive better decision making. There is a growing demand for 21st century data science skills in the private sector, and these skills are also essential to tackling global societal challenges in areas like energy, transportation, and healthcare.

To advance education in statistics and data science, IDSS faculty have developed some online programs ranging from short courses to the MicroMasters.

MicroMasters in Statistics and Data Science

For a deeper dive in probability and statistics, data analysis, and machine learning, the MicroMasters offers a way to master the skills needed to solve complex challenges with data. Comprised of four online courses and a virtually proctored exam, the MicroMasters provides a professional credential and an accelerated path towards an IDSS PhD or a Master’s at many other universities.

Data Science and Machine Learning: Making Data-Driven Decisions

With recorded lectures by MIT faculty and personalized mentorship from industry practitioners, this 12-week program covers statistics and Python foundations, machine learning, deep learning, NLP, prediction, recommendation systems, and more. The program is in collaboration with Great Learning.

Applied Data Science Program

Upgrade your data analytics skills with this 12-week live virtual program taught by IDSS faculty. Learn the theory and applications of supervised and unsupervised learning, time-series analysis, neural networks, recommendation engines, regression, and computer vision — to name a few.

No Code AI and Machine Learning: Building Data Science Solutions

Extract more value from your data by learning to translate business questions into specific analyses and execute them within an analytics platform. In this 12-week online course taught by IDSS faculty, you will acquire the analytics and AI tools you need to build predictive machine learning models in no-code environments and make data science more accessible within your organization.
