IDSS Faculty Affiliates named 2018 Sloan Research Fellows

IDSS faculty affiliates Tamara Broderick and Stefanie Jegelka have been named 2018 Sloan Research Fellows by the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation.

Tamara Broderick is the ITT Career Development Assistant Professor of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science and a member of the Institute for Data, Systems, and Society.  Stefanie Jegelka is an assistant professor of electrical engineering and computer science, and a member of IDSS and of the Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory.

The prestigious fellowships, which have been awarded yearly since 1955, are given to early career scholars who have made notable achievements in their fields

The fellowships are awarded in eight scientific fields: chemistry, computer science, economics, mathematics, evolutionary and computational molecular biology, neuroscience, ocean sciences, and physics. Fellows receive $65,000 to be used to further their research.
